Arts & Crafts Supplies Garage Sale
Crafters and artists are invited to sell their used art supplies at garage sale prices, as well as their personal artwork. Six foot table spaces are available for $5 each and may be reserved by calling (231) 845-2787 or by stopping into the LACA Gift Shop. Set up is Friday, September 3rd from 11am-4pm. Ludington Area Center for the Arts Performance Hall- 107 S. Harrison St., Ludington.

Brews & Beats 
Craft beer, wine and cider festival in Pentwater. Live music by The Drew Hale Band and Two Dudes in Flip Flops. Yard games, food trucks, and samplings from over 20 Michigan breweries. Advance tickets are $20 until May 1st; $30 after May 1st and at the door and include a tasting glass and 6 beer samples. Purchase tickets by visiting Village Green- 327 S. Hancock St., Pentwater.

Sounds from the Forest: General Assembly Big Band 
20-piece orchestra plays Jazz, Pop, & Show Tunes, honoring late founder/director Tom Sheppardson. Wenger Pavilion, Baldwin.

Worship at the Park
The Oceana/Mason County Inmate Ministries sponsors Sunday worship in two different parks. The services are interdenominational and a free willing offering is welcome. Jellystone Park- 8239 W. Scare Crow Contest
A scare crow contest is being held by Circle Rocking “S” Children’s Farm. Entry forms with photos must be submitted by October 21st and judging will take place the week of October 25th, with scarecrows placed in participants’ front yards. The event is free for special needs families, groups, and nursing homes. A $25 fee is requested from businesses or the general public. Participants may be from Mason, Manistee, or Lake Counties and addresses must be clearly marked on judging week. For entry forms, visit

AFFEW International Beach Sweep 
Held in conjunction with the International Coastal Clean Up, this sweep is different from AFFEW’s other sweeps in that trash is tallied after collection. Mears Lighted Trail
Lighting up the baldy foot trail with 150 steps leading to the top of the baldy overlook then down a lighted baldy sand dune. Lights will be on from dusk-10pm. Charles Mears State Park– 400 W. Lowell St., Pentwater.

Tickets are $30 for adults, $15 for kids age 6-17, and under age 6 are free. Tickets include dinner, drinks, and entry into the grand prize drawing. There will be special youth prizes given during the event. There will also be big board items, drawings all night, and more than 50 bucket drawings.
